Dear Harbordale Families,
As President of the Harbordale School Association (HSA), I would like to extend a warm welcome to our returning families and to the new families joining our Harbordale community.
HSA is a group of parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and staff who support our school through membership along with fundraisers and activities throughout the year. Membership dues for an entire family are only $10 per year. We are proud to have 100% teacher participation as HSA members and hope your family will consider joining!
Money raised by the HSA is spent only to benefit the students of Harbordale Elementary and covers many of the learning tools your child uses that the School District does not cover. This includes extra laptops and iPads, subscriptions to some of your child’s most used online programs, including AR and Scholastic News, buses for field trips, recess equipment, supplies for the Meet the Masters art program, mini-grants for teachers to enhance learning opportunities and so much more! We will rely on the support and input of our Harbordale families as we prepare for the year ahead.
We encourage every family to become a member of HSA. Your family will not only get special status as a member, but you also will receive regular email updates and have the ability to vote on our many issues, including programming and financial decisions, at our monthly general meetings.
This year, our main fundraising events include Pumpkin Pizzazz – a fall carnival with games, food, prizes and more, Change Challenge – a coin battle between the classes, the Walkathon – our biggest fundraiser where students walk their way towards donations and prizes, Holiday Shop, the Book Fair, the Spaghetti Dinner, Bingo Night, monthly Dine Out to Donate events, a Parent Social and more!
